Sonja Harkness
Greater Vernon Chamber
Sonja Harkness is a collaborative, people-centred leader dedicated to strengthening business systems & communities through connection, partnership, and shared purpose. As Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, she brings a strong foundation in strategic leadership, governance, and financial stewardship, paired with a deep belief that thriving economies are built on strong relationships.
With a Master’s degree in Business Economics and experience leading organizational growth and transformation, Sonja is known for building trust, fostering inclusive and high-performing teams, and creating environments where people feel heard, supported, and empowered.
A lifelong learner, Sonja continually invests in her own development and in the development of others. She is passionate about cultivating spaces where innovation, collaboration & inclusivity can flourish. Outside of work, she enjoys the outdoors, hiking, travel, and spending time with her family and friends in beautiful Okanagan.

Kevin Rothwell
Greater Vernon Chamber
Kevin’s career has included experience as a business owner, Better Business Bureau accreditation officer, business development manager, fund development manager, communications specialist, emcee, benefit auctioneer and a radio, television, online and print journalist and announcer.
Kevin is a British Columbia Association of Broadcasters “Journalist of the Year” award winner.
A strong believer in the Chamber of Commerce movement, Kevin is a board member of the Armstrong-Spallumcheen Chamber of Commerce and advocate for small business.
Kevin has three grown children and resides in Vernon with his wife Darlene, four fish, two dogs and one cat.

Tawnya Cameron
Greater Vernon Chamber
She grew up in Vernon, with a nine-year detour in Regina, where she developed a love for prairie humour and a lifelong case of Rider Pride (there is no cure).
With more than 20 years of experience in event coordination, recruitment, and community engagement, Tawnya brings a strong background in connecting people and creating meaningful experiences. Alongside her role with the Chamber, she is a public speaking coach, a certified Personality Dimensions facilitator, and the co-creator of The Spark Social Club.
Tawnya is grateful to live, work, and play in this beautiful community and looks forward to connecting with Chamber members in the months ahead.
