What our members are saying about our ADVOCACY efforts in the community.
“With their participation, support and promotion, the chamber contributes enormously to the success of our Enterprize Challenge and to Small Business Week. We’ve been able to support each other in a way that’s very collaborative, and together we can deliver high quality networking and education opportunities.”

“As a member of our Local Immigration Partnership Council, the chamber has provided invaluable input as we create a strategy to attract and retain immigrants, including entrepreneurs and investors. They really recognize the value to the community on both a social and an economic level. The chamber is also able to bring our message to the business community, and that networking is critical to the long-term success of these initiatives.”
- Annette Sharkey, Executive Director, Social Planning Council for the North Okanagan
“As part of our Greater Vernon Cultural Plan steering team, the chamber brought their talents, resources and networks to the table. Having the ability, through the chamber, to have a dialogue with the business community gave us a chance to feed and unlock some of those really valuable business opportunities.”

What our members are saying about the BENEFITS we make available.
“The Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott hotel in Vernon has participated in the Chambers of Commerce Group Insurance program since our hotel opened in 2013. We believe in open and honest relationships, and can recommend the program to other local businesses without hesitation.”
- Edna Suarez,Guest Services Manager, Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott
“My husband and I are both self-employed, so the benefits plan available through the chamber was a great opportunity for our family to join an affordable and really robust medical plan. The rates are very competitive, prescriptions are billed directly at the pharmacy, and when we access extended health care services that require receipts, all I have to do is upload a photo of the receipt to the app on my phone and the funds are reimbursed to my bank account in three business days. For a busy entrepreneur and parent, it couldn’t get easier!”
- Aly Pain, Master Coach & Professional Speaker
What our members are saying about the CONNECTIONS we offer.
“As a non-profit organization, it was great for us to host a Business after 5. We mixed and mingled with other chamber members, and had an opportunity to showcase our programs and services. The chamber worked with us to make hosting the event fun and easy. Thank you!”
- Sue Rossi, Executive Director, Canadian Mental Health Association Vernon
“Hosting Business After 5 was a great opportunity for us to show off our new space, and to reaffirm our commitment to Vernon and the business community. It was such a fun event, and we were glad to able to get people interested and engaged in what we do.”
- Rodney Goodchild, Director of Marketing and Operations Okanagan Spirits
“Hosting Business After 5 events has been a great opportunity for Tourism Vernon to connect and build relationships with our stakeholders and the business community. Annually, visitors spend nearly $200 million at local hotels, attractions, restaurants and retail stores. At Business After 5, we’re able to showcase our Visitor Information Centre, our team and programs, and some of Vernon’s renowned restaurants, stores and attractions.”
- Teresa Durning, Visitor Centre Supervisor, Vernon Tourism
"I have been part of a Chamber most of my business life and am currently involved with over 25 Chambers across the country. Recently one of our IRIS locations made a move from a mall where they had been doing business for almost 20 years to a new strip mall. Our stats told us this could result in a significant loss in annual sales even with a large marketing investment.
The location had been active in the Chamber for several years, and in preparation for the move they revved up their Chamber marketing activities, networking and communications to members. Instead of a loss in sales, this location has seen a 20% growth.
Credit goes to selecting a great location, building a beautiful store, the amazing IRIS team in the location for their passion and hard work, but we can’t overlook the impact made by the local Chamber of Commerce community, the Chamber staff and Chamber marketing opportunities."
- Debbi Rasmussen, Director IRIS Advantage Program
