• Board Priority Areas

  • The Board of Directors adopted a three year strategic plan in the summer of 2014. The plan was developed following engagement with members and various stakeholders followed by discussion by the Strategic Planning Group of the Board which also reviewed past research and strategic planning efforts. 

    The adopted plan centers on three strategic goals (Key Priority Areas). For each goal, objectives have been developed which will be used to measure progress being made.  These objectives have been drafted by applying the approach referred to as SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time defined).

    There are timelines attached to each objective.  It is also expected that reporting to members will occur at fiscal year-end through GVCC’s Annual Report and this strategic plan will be reviewed on a macro basis by July 1, 2017.

    GOAL #1: Improve the Chamber’s value proposition and grow membership

    The Chamber will customize its programming, services and events to create opportunities that are diverse enough to appeal to, and grow all membership categories.

    GOAL #2: Increase the Chamber’s profile & fortify its reputation

    The Chamber will build a profile that demonstrates it is a strong and respected voice of the business community.

    GOAL #3: Enhance advocacy efforts and gain further influence

    Build a respected and valued partnership with members and government stakeholders in order to grow business and communities through advocacy involvement.
