INTRODUCTION:
The Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce is requesting proposals from our current Chamber membership who can create a printed Membership Business Directory.

Our organization is guided by a 13 member volunteer Board of Directors and 3 Board appointees representing the City of Vernon, the District of Coldstream, and the Junior Chamber International (JCI). Additionally, the operations are managed by a staff of four.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS:
Description
The Chamber of Commerce Business Directory is a benefit of Chamber membership, offering another means to promote and facilitate business-to-business opportunities. The directory is distributed free to all Chamber members and copies are also available to the community at large.
The 2011 Business Directory will include, but may not be limited to, member business listings, Chamber of Commerce information, member business paid advertisements, business-related articles, and messages of welcome from community leaders.
Requirements
- Responsible for layout and design (the Chamber will proof and approve)
- Responsible for advertising sales to MEMBERS ONLY (an up-to-date membership list will be provided, with the understanding that it will be used only for the purposes of creating the Directory)
- Responsible for soliciting articles: a variety of writers, representing a cross-section of the business community, is preferred over one writer
- Responsible for a print run of 2,000
- Bulk mailout capabilities highly desirable
BUDGET:
None. Revenue to be generated through advertising sales; the Chamber will receive a percentage of the overall profit.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Must be able to provide the requirements as noted
- Must have strong sales capabilities in order to generate profit
- Must be a member in good standing of the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce
- Since bulk mailout is desired, preference will be given to proposals including this option

Additional Information: An advantage of being a member of the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce is that we advocate and promote our membership directly. Therefore, please note that this Request for Proposal is extended only to member businesses in good standing with the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce as of April 15, 2011. |
